Notes:

  1. It looks like some or all operators may not be signing up new customers in DCC areas until issues relating to Greyhound getting the DCC contract have been resolved? So it may be that some or all DCC residents have no option but to go with Greyhound for now? But do they get any pro-rata refund of the annual charge if they switch mid-year?
  2. I am not sure which of the above operate in DCC areas. Some of the websites are not clear on this even though I have seen some of these operators in DCC areas. In some cases the charges listed are for an adjacent local authority area.
  3. I presume that they all collect green bins/bags for free.
  4. It's not clear if they all provide brown bins and what the lift charges are.
  5. It's not clear in all cases what the capacity of bins provided are - I presume 240L unless otherwise stated?
  6. Some people (in or around the city centre as far as I know?) including myself have always been on the DCC pay as you go bag collection with no annual charge. Greyhound provide this service but it's not clear if other operators provide this service.
  7. Home composting is an option to reduce brown bin charges.
More anon as things get clearer... Comments and suggestions on how best to structure this post welcome. Thanks.
