Hi, I have DSL broadband from UTVInternet. My partner wants to get a laptop (possibly an Asus eee) so she can sit downstairs and surf the net. Is it possible to attach a wireless router to the PC to provide wireless access for her? How would it be done? Or are there other solutions I might try?

Does your DSL Modem currently support Wireless?
Are you looking to make your broadband wireless or wireless enable your partner's laptop or both?

You can get a Wireless Router to wireless enable your DSL Broadband Router, you connect the two together via an ethernet cable, or you can buy an all in one Wireless Modem Router which you would swap in for your current DSL Modem. You might even check if UTV could give you one/sell you one.

You then buy a wireless card for your partner's laptop either a USB one or PCMCIA type (like a credit card)
