Driving instructors

Does anybody know how I'd get information on checking out how to become a driving instructor. Several people have said I should become one and to be quite honest, I would be interested in it

My husband looked into this recently and he started by ringing around the various Driving schools. ISM are one of the biggest so maybe try there. You do have to do a course, some places will pay for it but you are contracted to stay with them for a fixed period after that and other companies have you pay yourself for the course. There are regulations coming in soon where all driving instructors must have a creditation(sorry can't remember who it is actually from) and you will need that to work for any company.

Good luck

A friend of mine became a driving instructor late last year. He did a course with ISM which cost €1700. They don't guarantee a job afterwards though, he was lucky to get a job with them. I would ask this question to them first as you may end up with their qulification but no job. The RSA are bringing in a test some time this year to assess all driving instructors and they must pass it to remain a driving instructor. I think this costs €600.
