Dormer bungalow

I have a large detached dormer bungalow 1 double bedroom downstairs and 2 really large upstairs my dilemma is can I split one of the upstairs bedrooms into two using a double or single fire door to split the rooms thus providing access straight through to the other bedroom to the fire escape dormer window. As the new room I would be creating as only a velux window high in the roof. The new room I'm creating would also have its own firedoor access onto the landing any advice would be appreciated.The property was built in Barnsley in 2013 .thanks.
