my electrician suggested a remote door bell is best,
is he just taking the easy route???
Would a wired door bell be better
remote is 20 euro, whereas the wired is 60euro
Does anyone have advise on the pros or cons of the different types of door bell.
I have a remote one but it will only work if it is plugged in just inside the front door...if I plug it in the sitting room it's too far away to pick up the signal. I would go for the traditional wired one.
Had a remote one at home a good while back batteries were a nightmare and it often didn't work. Ended up getting a proper one wired in. I'm sure they have advanced a bit since then though.
I had a problem with my eircom phone watch system with the alarm going off at odd times. I assumed it was faulty sensors so eircom Phonewatch came out for a service. He checked all the sensors and said that they were ok. He then asked casually - "I don't suppose you have got a wireless doorbell recently?". And that was it. It was interfering with the alarm system.
depending on the frequency the remote control bell operates on, some peoples remote central locking can set it off!! Im not kidding, my uncles corolla sets it off and the only reason you know its a car is that it plays a different tune!!
