dog going to toilet making my grass turn different colour

Hi

I have 2 dogs and a small back garden and my dogs go to the toilet on the lawn and I clean it up every evening, lately though I notice patches of the grass is turned yellow, I am wondering is there anything I could put on my grass to restore it to its green colour? I am in the middle of building a special fenced off concrete area for them but its not finished yet, I am hoping to have it done soon but I wont be closing them in all day every day, I just want my grass back to normal! Help

Have you females or dogs? females urine does kill grass. You can water it down if you spot them going to the toilet but it is a pain. If the grass is dead you will have to re-seed the patches or cut out the dead patches and replace with sod cut from an inconspicuous part of the garden and re-seed this area. Resist the temptation to treat the grass with a high nitrogen feed at this time of year (only use this in Spring and early Summer) as you will get deeper green grass but it will be new and delicate growth which will probably be damaged by the cold temperatures now and might get diseased. the vet can give you a supplement to stop their pee turning the grass yellow, i think i may have also seen it in the pet shop..
