Does the revenue still accept cheques?

I need to pay the revenue a few quid from rental income.
Last year I paid by cheque.

Can I still do this post e-day?

I think not. Since earlier this month, no cheques are accepted by any Government Department.

E day refers to business only so you should be OK with paying by cheque

I have paid my wife's preliminary tax by cheque in the last week. They never said it was a problem
