Does landlord qualify for insulation grants?

I am a long-standing tenant in a very nice property which has cavity walls and is poorly insulated. Can my landlord apply for a grant towards the cost of upgrading this building or must he pay the full amount?

Yes he can apply - I did this myself last year, no problem.

No, there is no obligation on the landlord as I understand it - just makes sense as a mediium long term investment.

I got it done too, on my rented property. I think you can look up sei.ie Bronte and the information is all there. You get approved within 24 hours once you have received quotations from the insulation guys and their 'number' for inclusion in the application form. Grant for BER Cert is also available, which I also got done while I was at it. I found it very professional from start to finsh - was well impressed. I considered it an investment as my house wasn't the warmest when I lived in it and my tenants were expecting twins - they were delighted. My insulation guy was very helpful too. Haven't heard of these grants being cut ....yet!
