Does JB count as income for Carer Credit

My husband got jobseekers benefit for 9 Months last year and had no other income. I work full time and i was wondering if we can claim the home carers credit for 2009 as we have one child.
I have checked the revenue website and there is an income limit of about 5k but i can't see anywhere is JB is classified as income.
fingers crossed that it isn't as really could do with this - any ideas anyone? thanks!
 
Unfortunalely Social Welfare benefits do count as income , however , your husbands income can exceed 5k and you can still claim some tax credit .

If you claimed Home Carer in 2008 , you may qualify in 2009 too .
