A friend had to go to hospital yesterday for a hip injection and they signed 2 items and given a black folder to take to ward. They never got the folder back and don't have a clue what they signed!!
It's not standard to provide people with copies on admission. They're not really in a position, while in the ward, to treat their personal documents with appropriate confidentiality.
If your friend asks for copies, I'm sure she'll be given them.
Solved, they rang LAYA and apparently what they sign relates to the claim and then when the claim goes to LAYA they will be contacted, so sorted but the procedure went a bit poorly and they wondered if they had signed away any rights of redress.
No matter what you sign or don't sign you always have a right to make a complaint or even take legal action. There are many rights that you cannot legally waive, even if you want to.
