Do tenants have to be registered?

Hi All,

I'm planning to lease out my apartment for 6 months. It's a high quality apartment and is less than a year old.

My query is:

Am I obliged to register my tenants with any Government body? (I've heard the name PRTA mentioned, but I can't seem to find a specific website for them). If it's a high quality apartment, is it necessary to register?

Thanks in Advance for any assistance

Yes you have to register with the PRTB....regardless of the quality of the apartment. You have another tread on this apartment & I still reckon you'd be better off to not worry about maximising returns but rather to get someone to mind your home.

does this apply if renting a room out?

I'm not being smart, but why on earth would you think that the quality of the apartment has anything to do with registration requirements? Do you think there is a law that states 'knacker flats have to register, but nice apartments dont'?
