Sorry to ask this .. as it might be a stupid question.

Myself and my partner are expecting our first child in August
she doesn't work and it on disability payments ( Type 3 OI ) - I work full time.

We are not married so I take it I can't take any of her tax credits.. and i'm not even sure I could if we where married as she claims disability ( maybe someone can answer that ? )

Back to my question.. do I get any tax credits or any credits for having a child ?

again.. sorry if it's stupid question..

thanks.

Short answer = NO.

No child tax credits in Ireland.

Exception is if child is disabled.

Also, there is the Home Carer's tax credit, look that up.

NO.

Gay people living with their partner and are not in a civil partnership cant get the home carers tax credit
Straight people living with their partner and are not married cant get the home carers tax credit.

Not all gay people are in a civil partnership
