Yes they are Reckonable in the situation you describe.are the ARF Class S contributions not reckonable for the BP65 even if you had been previously self-employed, rather than an employee?
Ah of course. Was overlooking this aspect, makes perfect sense. Thanks a lot for the comprehensive reply. It's difficult for a person who only has class S from an ARF to meet the ceasing employment rule.
If one pays voluntary PRSI in the Governing Contribution Year does that cover the 39 PRSI (min. 13 Paid) requirement for BP65?If you don't have a minimum of 13 weeks of paid class A contributions in the calendar year of your 61st birthday, or 13 paid class A contributions in a later calendar year, you will need 13 paid class A in any future calendar year up to your 65th birthday.
Just for clarity . .No. Only paid class A or credits based on class A count.
That is right. If one was previously employed and paying Class A PRSI and having left employment started paying Voluntary PRSI up to and including the Governing Contribution Year, that still wouldn't tick the box of 13 paid contributions, is that right?
Yes that will work.If one was to sign on for credits only in the Governing Contribution Year and picked up 13 paid PRSI (by earning min. €38/week for 13 weeks) in the governing year or either of the two years before that, might that do the trick?
