Do I need an Automatic Bypass Valve

Hi,

I intend to fit motorised valves to all three zones (upstairs rads, downstairs rads, and hot water) but I will wire them with a boiler interlock so that the boiler will only fire when at least one of the valves is in the open position.

Do I need an automatic bypass valves as well or is this overkill.

yes, you will need one. At €40 they're not cheap, but they should prolong the life of your pump.
 
Thanks DJ. Any idea where is the best place to get one? Chadwicks maybe?
 
Just a word of thanks for the replies.

Fitted the zone valves and controllers and an ABP last Wednesday and all is working well. Thanks for the advice.
