If bringin a car in from northern ireland what way does the NCT work when the VRT gets paid do i have to put the car through NCT even if it has passed the MOT in north.

Re: Vrt

I would have thought so yes.
I am sure the north or uk would not accept a NCT as proof of the car being road worthy.

If the car is less than 4 years old then no worries.
If the car has passed the MOT then NCT should be no bother.

Re: Vrt

You need to do an nct regardless of MOT done or not (4 year old or older)
As Frank said, but remember that the NCT falls on the month of first reg. in UK.

So if your car was due for NCT say Jan 2005, you will have to do NCT now for that period i.e. Jan 2005 to Jan 2007. and then another in Jan 2007 for the next period (9 months time)

Please make thread titles more relevant/specific in future.

I have edited this one.
