Disturbance Allowance Money

Hi all, Has anyone heard of or received this. Someone asked me the other day was I getting it because I am living right beside a Council building/renovation job. The dust dirt and noise is something else. I know when the job is finised next August I hope, I will have to replace less than a year old carpets, and trying to keep house clean is a nightmare. Had to buy blackout curtains because of site lights shining into my childrens bedrooms and sometimes my 2 small boys either have problems sleeping or being woken because of the noise. It is impossible for me to leave windows and doors open from monday to friday, 7.30 to 5, because of this job. This person seems to think that people beside new road constructions get this payment and thought because it is a council project, ie it is new area offices being built, that I would be entitled to some sort of an allowance from them. Any comments guys and gals.

Never heard of it.

The only payments I've heard of that roughly fit the phrase (rather than the conditions or environment) are those sometimes provided to public sector employees who need to be relocated.

If this was the case, the council would be paying out millions.

There's no way they could afford to do this.
