Hi,

I was wondering if anybody has any experience of Distance Learning Courses in Accounting (possibly Accounting Technician or full Accountant). I am working in a Tax consultants but I have no qualifications and I would like to further my career. Unfortunately as I am working full-time I could not commit to a Night course so I would like to do it by Distance Learing.
I would appreciate any help I could get in deciding what kind of course to do etc.

Hi,

I have just complete the first yr of IATI (attended a local college) but have enrolled on a correspondence course for the second and final yr.

You can find details if you google 'mckeon murray'. It costs about £400 which is comparable to going to a college. You must be enrolled on a course to register with the institute and the closing date is sometime in November.

I used their books last year to help me and found them to be very specific and could not have rec'd my results without them.

As I have distinctions it gives me exemptions from FI, F2 & F3 ACCA should you wish to continue.

fortwilliam, are you sure you can gain exemptions from the ACCA professional qualification if you have done the accounts technician course through the IATI. (I thought IATA was tied in with ACA). Hopefully you are right because I am giving this alot of thought lately and it is probably the road I would go down aswell
