hi there can anyone help on this question? I have a Zanussi Dishwasher only less than 2 years old and for the past month every time I use it, when its only running for a couple of minutes the plug in the wall gets red hot and it trips the main switch. My nephew who is an electrician came and changed the socket in the wall for me cos there was slight singeing on the socket but he said if he took the plug apart as its a sealed unit then it would render any warranty on the machine useless. Just wondering if anyone would know could there be a problem with the plug before I get the Repairman out. ta in anticipation

You should check for leaks - I had same problem - discovered hose from back of machine was twisted and caused leak which affected the electricity - in my case, the fuses kept blowing!

Eithneangela thanks for that but i was trawling the internet for a manual for this particular dishwasher cos I cant lay my hands on my own when I was directed to the National Consumer Agency and they have issued a Safety Notice on this particular make and model with the PNC matching mine so I have to ring After Sales Service and they will have someone out to check it as its a potential fire hazard!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it?????Thanks for your help also..

oops it would seem my serial number was not one of the machines that has the fault i was told by a rather abrupt young man with not very pleasant attitude at 9 this morning. He told me he would arrange a visit but it would cost me €70. So im still looking for advice cos the repairman didnt ring me yet.
