disasbility(monthly certs)and getting married

I was just speaking to a friend of mine on the phone and she asked me to look up the above question on the welfare website. She is on disability - she doesnt know whether is allowance or benefit but it is the monthly certs. Rather than trawl through the website I thought Welfarite may be able to answer this. Does she inform the Dept that she has just got married.??

I didnt think she would have to as I cant see how it affects that type of benefit.

Yes she should inform the Dept that she has married - depending on her husband's income, she may be able to claim an increase in her payment for him.

If she's sending in medical certs, she's on Illness Benefit.
