I am looking fior a direct debit form for my tenants to fill out so i get paid every month on the same date as i am sick of them being days late each month.

Must i get this from a bank or what?

You're looking for a standing order form rather than a direct debit. Your bank should be able to help you.

Ok - thanks.

Just to clarify - which is the one whereby if the money isn't in their account then the money does get transferred to my acount and leaves there account in the negative to the same amount which leaves them with a situation to remedy with their bank rather than with me?

Is that a standing order so ya?

WHich begs the question what is the difference between a direct debit and standing order?

Ok jaybird - so if i am understanding you correctly in the instance whereby the tenant has zero cash in his account on rent day then I won't be paid anyway?

Unlike with a direct debit (which you say i cannot set up) then the tenants esb bill would be paid if they also owed that on the same day?

SO really there is not much advantage in setting up a standing order so is there ? (Other than i guess getting paid if they do have money in their account that day - which isn't a bad thing i suppose)

Out of curiosity - if only half the money was in their account would i get that - or is it all or nothing with a standing order?
