Dimmer switch dilemma

Hello All,

I would like to install a dimmer switch in my kitchen but I have two big problems:
1. I want to replace a 1 Gang 3 way rocker switch set but don't see any 1 Gang 3 way dimmer anywhere on the net.

2. Even if I did, one of the three rocker switches is now switching a fluorescent tube under a kitchen press so I'm wondering what replacement lighting I can use which would work with dimmers?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Fit another 1 gang beside the existing one (there is a twin in one double-size wall box). Put a switch on one, and a double dimmer on the other.
 
Yeah, that might have to be it but as things stand, there isn't much room left of it and there's a surface (I presume) mounted stat to the right.

I'd have to start hacking at the concrete which I don't want to do. But if there ain't anything else for it, I'll have to get out the Kango but I'd really prefer not to make the mess and have the trouble of filling and finishing.
 
I work in the electrical game and have never come accross a 1 gang 3 way dimmer switch, as rockofages said, the easiest option is to replace the 1 gang 3 way rocker switch with 2 seperate switches, a 2gang 2way dimmer and a 1 gang 1 way dimmer/rocker. If the wall are dry lined you can get a dry lining box to take 2 seperate 1 gang switches. This is a twin 2 gang box rather than a double.
 
Not sure what gang means here; but I got one dimmer switch with 4 separate light controls in B&Q. I'm sure they do them for 3 as well if this what you are talking about.
 
Deas, I think I am just as confused and I think Nationaldude knows that but is too nice to laugh at me...

But what I have is the space for a square plate and I would like to have 3 dimmer knobs on it. I think I'll have to stay out of gangland if I know what's good for me...

Nationaldude, the wall is concrete so I'd love to do this with a square plate.
 
Have a look at the Clipsal E series range, there's a suitable plate that takes switches or dimmers, but you won't be able to put three dimmers on it or they'll overheat.
You could have two dimmers and one switch though.
Clipsal can be ordered from your friendly local wholesaler.

Why bother with a dimmer switch, Correct me if I am wrong but they will not work on power saving bulbs, only on tungsten which is being phased out.
