Digiweb VOIP broadband?

Hello people.

I'm looking for advice about broadband and home phone packages. I'm living in Navan and have had broadband and landline with BT since 2006. I've recently began looking at other service providers and was talking to a very helpful lady from Digiweb last week. They are offering the following:

~2 mg Broadband + all land line phone calls for €30 monthly, or:
~3 mg broadband + all land line phone calls for €35 monthly.
~no line rental.
~calls to mobiles are 20/22c per min peak,
15c per min off-peak.
~once off installation fee of €99
~landline number must be changed, but this isn't a problem for me.
~they call in their 'metro' pack, and it works on a V.O.I.P. system. (I've no idea what that is, but I know it's not what they call phoneline broadband. Also, they have to install something on the roof of house)

This is, by far the best and cheapest deal going at the moment, and I was wondering what experience people had with Didiweb, and their VOIP system. Is it reliable? Any advantages or disadvantages? I would save quite a lot every month over BT! Is it too good to be true?

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance...

I'm also interested to hear if anyone has experience of Digiweb in the North Dublin city area (Dublin 3) - I don't want to pay extra for a phone line and they are quoting speeds of 3mbps on the Metro value now for €29.95/month including phone line (no free calls).

Well, so far so good - I ordered Digiweb's Metro Value pack during the week and was told it would be 15 working days for installation, but they have just called me and told me that they will install on Monday, hope they continue to be this efficient!

I had Digiweb's Metro for two years but just changed over to Smart. I had no problems with their broadband but the phone service (VOIP) was brutal. There was always noise on the line and connection problems. I am in Dublin7.

Digiweb wouldn't install for me as they said the signal is not strong enough at my location. I guess it's better than getting a substandard service....

I can't comment on their VOIP, but i have their 3 meg broadband, which they upgraded to 6 for free last month, I have never had a problem with the service, speeds slow a little at peak times but overall at speedtest.net i was always getting between 2 - 2.5, nearly 3 in the middle of the morning, still assessing the 6 meg and getting 3 - 4 peak times and 5.5 around midnight onwards, one other thing i noticed that when you start off new with them they throttle your speeds until they get an average usage over a month on downloads.. overall very happy!

I've seen fairly unanimous issues around their VOIP service - try Smart or Magnet, both offer excellent voip, or just use a company like www.blueface.ie with your digiweb connection.
