Just wondering, does the concept of "being made redundant" exist in the public sector ?
Is a state job always a "job for life"
Obviously in the private sector, if an employee is not making a positive financial contribution to the organisation, he/she will probably not survive.
The criteria in the public sector is probably different though. Can anyone give examples of public sector entities who made people redundant.
Under what criteria would someone be made redundant in the public sector ?
If an employee was not performing well in the public sector, would they be made redundant ?
