Feel a bit like Dougal!

I downloaded a ticker-tape type item from a website onto my desktop. An't for the life of me get rid of it. I'm using IE6.

It's from a credible site. Any tips?

Perhaps if you tell us what it is (e.g. the source site) then we might be able to suggest something? Switching off Active Desktop might disable it (and perhaps other functionality):

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Folder Options -> Active Desktop\Use Windows Classic Desktop

(The above menu path is for Windows 2000 and may differ on other Windows versions).
