Today's report on Denis O'Brien's legal fees payment is so "Irish".

Though legal costs payments seem to be awarded to all participating the Moriarty Tribunal, it's still possible that Messrs O'Brien and Lowry may be prosecuted over the tribunal's finding that Lowry had favoured the Esat bid for the mobile phone licence and had in turn been granted financial favours by O'Brien.

Old Digicel has been lost from the O'Brien control, as has his chairman job there.
Obviously I don't fret for his financial future given his large number of significant other investments, e.g. real estate ventures, stakes in major businesses, etc. But the falls have been coming thick and fast lately for this 30 year buccaneer. Could be that staying out of jail over all that was in the second mobile licence saga will be a supreme test . . .
