I have been given an old Dell Latitude Laptop CPX .

It has 12GB HD and 128MB Ram.

It also has Windows XP professional OS
It only has one USB connection and I dontn think it has a Wi-Fi card
I dont know if it can be used as a wired laptop , as I thinkm it may need a PCMIA card

Is it ready for the skip , or should I spend some money on it ?

Here is a review I found on eBay about this partucular Laptop

If you want something that will last forever, you've found it! These are popular with car-tuners who couldn't afford or didn't want ruggedised lap-tops.

Upgrade memory to 512MB (2 x 256MB modules) about 60/70 euro inc VAT, a PCMCIA / PC CardBus card, 25/30 euro inc VAT so for around 100 euro you've a nice little starter that shouldn't break, IMHO.

The downside is the USB port is 1.x so USB peripheral access / drivers may be limited.
