Deeds

Hey All

My parents have recieved back the deeds on their house as they have finished paying their mortgage.

The bank mentioned they need to go and register these now with the land registry...

Anyone have any experience on what needs to be done?

Hi Lyndan,

We are in the same position after clearing our mortgage with the SSIA .

I rang Land Registry and they told me that when the letter releasing the deeds comes from the mortgage lender to go to our solicitor and he will get the deeds registered for us in our name with Land Registry.

I also informed our house insurance company that the Bank no longer needed to be noted as having an interest in our policy as the mortgage was cleared.
