Hi,
We have an outside tap in the side passage that runs off the mains, and when that is run, the pressure on the kitchen sink tap drops a lot, which would indicate they are both running off the same feed.
Now, if you pour yourself a glass of water from the kitchen tap when the outside tap is running, it will be filled with brown/black particle debris. The same thing happens if you pour a glass of water from the kitchen tap while the washing machine in the shed is running. The bottom of the water tank in the attic is covered in this debris, whatever it is.
Could it be a dead leg somehow? If it is, it would have to be located before the kitchen tap...
