Hello all,
My husband had an accident in april last year.
He was working for an agency in Dublin, fulltime.
He was then on injury and illness benefit and after being assessed by medical assesor from SW he was told he is "fit for other types of work".

He is now filling out form for disablity benefit and going on dole as his employer said he does due to the downturn in construction and due to being not fit for construciton work.

My question is - he received a p45 saying he ceased work from april last year - is this correct?

THanks.

can anyone advise? Is it right to fire someone on the day of the accident? Or when you are finished with illness benefit and you return to work?

Maybe you should contact his Revenue office and see what they think? Put it in writing to them that you believe the P45 date is not correct.

The P45 is a certificate of employment cessation and the date of leaving reflects the last day of wages/salary paid.
