Dashboard Gauges went off

Hi Expert

i am driving a VW Polo 02, 4 days ago when i came out from shops the car's dashboard light not coming on..all other elec applicance working good, 1/2 tank petrol left.

no idea what happened, engine sounded ok. friends try to jump start the car but no joy.
i suspect its a elec problem. somehow an accidental tab on the dashboard , and all gauges are back on and able to start the engine.
but afterwards the airbag lights remain on..and the dashboard gauages seem to went off and back on while driving.

any expert come across this before? wat seems to be the problem?

hi all
just got the car back from garage, eventually they reset the system and cannot find wat the problem is, as the problem not happen when the car is in garage, typical ha. they adviced the best solution is to replace the whole dash quoted €450 inclu labour. i reckon its a bad cable after all.
anybody know if theres mechanic specialise on electronic side in Dublin?

You could try Foster motors, they are a volkswagon garage, but they might be quite expensive

I have a Polo as well and I use a garage in Sallynoggin, but I've forgotton what it's called. If you're interested I'll find out.

thanks Sar, thats the garage i having the car fixed but unfortunately the problem didn't happen while the car is in garage, they are vW main dealer so they are quite expensive.
i am deciding to go to Logicautomotive.ie
They can repair a dashboard where the speedometer stopped working. Website is
