About 18 months ago I got some polish builders to do my shed - I knew them through friends. They were to put plasterboard on the shed, drylining it etc. so it could be used as utility/kids playroom. Unforutnately, as single woman on my own I got conned, and later found that they had put the plasterboard striaight on to the wall - about three/four months later, all the mould started coming through the plasterboard. Both my children have asthma so the room could not be used for them and their toy trains, racing car sets etc.
Last March I got the shed redone, on another recommendation from 'freinds'. The guy put some sort of form and felt behind the plasterboard. It seemed to work until about a month ago when mould started appearing around one of the windows - around the window is now covered in mould. I think maybe he should have plastered the outside around the window as there seems to be a crack in the plaster, but he decided not to do this. He did come back to fix the roof which leaked and charged me an extra E200 for this, and now it is leaking again. My children cannot now use the room again because of the mould and their asthma.
Question: What can I do. I have already telephoned him and texted him about the problem with a view to coming back, but he refuses to do so. Second Questions is: Are shed conversions ever successful (block built shed with corrugated roof originally). Maybe I should just (at yet again more expense) get someone to take down the drylining and just expose the bare blocks as before, and return the room to utility use only. I've already spent a total between the two builders of almost E6000. I don't want to waste any more money and I don't want to be conned again. I'm selling the house (might take forever!) so don't want people to see the mould around the windows in the shed conversion.
