Daft advertising listings

Hi,
I'm trying to sell my house myself on Daft. I only advertised it 3 days ago and the problem I'm having is homes that have been advertised for months are above mine already putting mine on the second page.
They are suppose to be listed by how new they are on the site.
I have found out after talking to someone in daft that many of the ones above me are not on a preferred listing however they could not help me.
I've tried deactivating my ad and renewing it but it doesn't push me back to the top.
I'm just wondering does anyone know how this works?
Do I have to deactivate it for a certain amount of time???
I would appreciate any help you can offer

Thanks

when I use daft, I log on everyday and renew my adv which pushes it to the top of the page. But if you did this every morning let's say then by the evening other people will have done the same and your adv would go do down the list again.

I normally do it during the middle of the day but really renewing your adv should do the trick.

Are the adds at the top "premium adds"? They cost more and therefore appear first. You can tell as they have a box around them and a photo displayed on the listings page AFAIR

Yes, the ads on top are premium ads which will always have preference, with non-premium ads displaying directly underneath in descending order, starting with the most recently entered/modified.

As there are thousands of adverts on the website you can appreciate that this list will be constantly updating its order and it will be impossible to keep your ad on top unless you update it every 5 mins.

Which ofcourse you can't because the system only lets you update once every 24 hours. I usuallly wait til mid/late morning because most agencies do it first thing, that keeps my ads near the top for lunchtime and evenings which is when I suppose most people will be looking.

Thanks for the feedback. The ones on the top are not premium ads - I've called daft and they said their not and the system should not be doing that???
I've tried renewing and reactivating them and even if I did this in the past couple of minutes, the others from earlier today are above mine still.

Are you doing this as a private sale? Could it be that the other advertisers have preferential status -say one of the big EA's who spend a lot of money with Daft (a lot of clients money)? If this is so matter no matter what you do these ads will always be above yours.

VIZ top tip for being first in the listings on DAFT.

Drop the price below your competition so when your average user comes in and sorts by price, heypresto, you'll be first.
