Hypothetical question crisscrossing into tax, planning, conveyance & law.
While in the process of buying a property can one split the title in conveyance so that it's 2/3 conveyed privately and 1/3 conveyed to a company. The company using the 1/3 apportioned area for an office. I.e. The company pays for a section of land for use as a home office, and the other pays for the house.
If I'm correct, it would appear to be valid for a company to build / purchase a home office and sit it on private land, but can a company buy the land the home office will sit on at time of conveyance.
Some initial thoughts - having a separate title, the company may not be able to avail of the planning exempt 25sq home/office.
A hypothetical penny for your thoughts!!
