I realised last year that I had not been claiming tax credits for my medical premium so I sent in a form to claim them going back 4 years. My tax credit cert for this year showed an extra credit for the full amount under health insurance but now I am unsure where to fill this in on the Form11. I will also have a health insurance credit for this years premium so I could just add the credit granted for previous years to this years value and include it all in Item 525 (I think, dont have the form to hand but its Item 5??). Is this correct ? In fact I suppose the question doesn't have to be specifically about health insurance, it could be about any item you are entitled to tax relief for, if you claim a credit going back a number of years do you then just add it to the same item for the current year, or is there some special location on the Form 11 it should be entred to indicate that it is a credit from previous years ?
