Cracked Concrete in Back Garden

Hi

Im very new to all this so please be patient, we've recently bought an old house in Dublin 8 in need of complete refurbishment, thanks to builder friends and family its coming along nicely. My problem is the back garden is all concrete and its showing cracks all over it. In some places you can actually see the soil underneath. My question is what do i do with it im really looking for ideas. I have a young daughter so am thinking of decking it out, do i need to fix it and how before i start the decking, or do i deck over it as is? Any toughts on this will be much appreciated even alternatives to decking?

Rent a drill and get it up and into a skip, sounds like it was poured directly onto the soil. What do your builder friends think? Altough if they think your asking them to do it they might sasy it's a bad idea

I'd use a kango/ bosch breaker any hire shop will have them

Drill = holes.

Cracked concrete won't interfere with you deck, you will want to fix through the concrete to give a stable base for your framework.
Punch out 6" holes (with aformentioned breaker) and concrete your posts into the ground. (wrap posts with DPC to prolong their life).
You may need to lower the concrete to allow your deck to sit level with the back of the house, in which case, break it up and get rid of it. Then cover your garden with weed control fabric and a layer of pebble before decking over it.
