Coving

To facilitate some electrical work we are looking at putting in coving in the kitchen and sitting rooms.

Does any one have any experience with coving? Is it expensive? Where can I find a "cover?"

These days they are usually premoulded, stuck in place and then any gaps / cracks made good. Kind of a plasterers job if you dont want to use a specialist.

Many moons ago a carpener fit some for us. My only observation about coving would be that the plainer(?) the better. The ornate ones can look OTT.

Have used these [broken link removed] (old style heavy plaster coving) and was pleased with the result. They had their own fitters.

For hiding cables etc the lighter coving e.g. polystyrene or plasterboard types might be a better option i.e. significantly less expensive and could be done by a competent diy'er.
