Basically I've been seeing a single mother for the past year. She is claiming the Lone parents payment and is being housed under the Rental Accommodation Scheme (RAS). We've decided we would like to move in together in the new year. We want to do things properly so she will be giving up the Lone Parent Payment. However I've Just been told I wont have a job after christmas.
I know I can claim social welfare for myself my partner and her child until I can find another job but what about accommodation?? Will the RAS allow us to stay in her currant appartment as a couple?? Is RAS only open to single parents??
Obviously we can't afford to rent a place on social welfare so if the RAS will not accept us as a couple, we cannot move in together
