Hello
We are thinking of renting in Ireland,we are at present in Scotland,and are trying to find out what council tax or property rates would have to be paid on a rented property.

At the moment there are none, we are due a budget next week which is mooted to bring in a household charge of €100 per year. Water rates are due in the coming years also. You will have to pay for your refuse service on a usage based system, there are a number of options depending on your chosen service provider.
