I bought a property on a new estate for investment purposes 2 years ago hoping to rent it out and sell it in the future. However, unknown to myself the house next door is a council house and it is now occupied by tennants who have a large number of cars, children and dogs in the house and surrounds. A lot of rubbish is about and I cannot get new tennants and anticipate problems if I wished to sell. At what stage does the property developer decide which house will be given to the council? Should my soliciter have been informed that the house I intended to buy was beside the council house? I have previously rented to social welfare recipients and that is not a problem to me. I have no evidence of antisocial behavious.
any suggestions? Is there any legal comeback from the property developer?
