Hi, just put in for planning permission to self-build new house, the council charges for the site in total will be about €8k which are split into different categories, such as sewerage etc. Do you have to pay to the total charges even if you are not going to be connected to some of the services?
 
For example? If you are not going to connect to the sewerage you have to have planning to put in a septic tank or biocycle.
 
yes - we are putting in the treatment system, so in this case would we have to pay the council charge set aside for the cost of sewerage?
 
No, then you won't have to pay the levy for connection to the public sewer.
 
or the main's water aspect then as we will be in a group water scheme? sorry, I know it sounds obvious that we wouldn't have to pay its just that I didn't know whether the council expected a flat payment for all possible services rather than just paying for the ones that you will actually need.
