Cost to build Roadstone Hallmark per sq m

Hi All,

Can anyone give me any estimate on the costs per m/sq for building Roadstone hallmark brick. I have received a few quotes but they seem to be very high.

You talking about costs for supply only or supply & fit? Check out roadstone website www.roadstone.ie - it will give the center nearest you - you can ring them directly for quotes. Not sure about cost for laying - I'm guessing roughly €25 - 35 / m2, maybe some QS reading this forum could check this out. depends what part of the country. You might be able to get some one to so it labour only for a fixed price, if you supply the materials
 
Hi,

I am supplying the brick for the job. I am getting quotes of 60 euros a sq meter plus vat from local bricklayers. I am based in the northeast. There is about 270 sq meters in total as I am doing the whole house in it too so it will be one of my biggest expenses in the build. All the bricklayers I have talked to include window and door opes too in the area calculation to allow for the extra work to build it around them too.Does anyone know is this normal practice and is this price high?

most blocklayers do indeed measure thru opes and they are fully entitles to so. if you have several large opening you can haggle them down. Regarding the price of 60/m2 plus VAT it does seem high. Hallmark stonework is relatively easy to lay, especially compared to natural stone. I would be expecting a rate of 45/m2 maximum. What part of the north east are you building?

I am looking to get 60 M2 of random limestone built. Based in north west
I was quoted 80 euro per M2 + Vat to build only. A lot of corners in it.

Is this expensive.

You should be able to improve on that, if thats the only quotation you have got you should get at least another two.

in terms of hallmark stone, the general cost per m2 would come to around 46 euro. bradstone would be the same. natural stone however varies depending on the style of build. if the stone is built in a random bond, the cost is around 70 per m2, for a more square pattern, the cost is around 75 - 80 per m2 depending on the stone, for a dry stone wall the cost could be from 90 - 100 per m2 again depending on the stone.
