Generally speaking, how much would it cost to have the following work carried out on a 2 bed cottage? I'd like to know how much more I'd have to budget on top of the cost of the actual building in order to improve the energy rate of the building, and considering that renovations are needed anyway, I might as well get the job done properly in as "green" a way as possible.
1) Re-Cover the roof - slate, thatch, or "green" (moss-like plants)
2) Damp-proofing/ Dry-lining
3) Insulating (the whole building)
4) Install a septic tank (with or without a reed bed)
Also, what's the average cost of:
1) Solar Panels
2) Geothermal heat pumps
3) "Heat recovery systems" - not sure what their actual name is...
4) Wind turbine (is it even allowed in Ireland to have a domestic wind turbine to generate electricity?)
I've read so many posts I'm confusing myself, I'm not even sure if the prices are still going up or not... If it makes any difference, I'm based in Connacht.
