Cost of extending driveway

Hi

We have asked for a quote for the following:

Additional cobblelock to driveway (say 80sq ft)
rest of area to be pebbled (say 150 sq ft)

Whole area to be dug out, levelled and some drainage put in
Lay weed barrier etc

We are quoted €1700 + VAT.

I haven't a clue about these things - does this sound reasonable?
 
sounds too good you will need to check out some other work they have done and make sure on your job that they do in fact dig out enough to give a very firm base remember it will have to put up with lots of rain /snow and cars comming and going
 
For a lasting job, it's way under. Unless you're dealing with you-know-who. Perhaps the VAT is the profit;)
