Hi
i am building a 8.6m x 5.6m garage in limerick . I have recieved some price on ground work ,aggregate ,and some labour costs just to get the foundation in. As this is the first time i have ever done anything i just want to put the prices out there and see what every body thinks

groung work+dig out foundation €480 (approx 2 days )

a drive through the back lawn up to the garage has to be created also

20 ton of 3" down €465 (stone for drive)

7Cm of concrete for foundation €476

labour to peg out foundation and oversee pouring of foundation €300

this gives me a total of €1721 just to get the foundation in ...how does this compare

thanks

Does this include removing the soil/earth to landfill or some other suitable place. The cost of disposing can be high if nobody wants the topsoil so the price sounds ok if it does include disposal.
It also looks as if a proper job is being done.

No it does not include for the soil to be removed. But fortunatley i need some top soil for another project.but i will still have a lot of soil left over..

Not by your quotation above it doesn't.

Isn't €465 of that hardcore for the driveway - that's not foundation work for the garage, right?

Its a proper garage not a shed presumably.

Although you're quoting prices out of context I'm assuming this is a 750mm x 250mm min deep footing supporting a 215mm hollow block wall rendered on the outside.

And some of the labour must be for clearing the ground for the driveway as well.

If the driveway is done right he'll have to lift sod, remove any roots and fill holes/ soft spots, deposit the stone and whack it before it can receive the concrete.

A lot of money goes into the ground in building work
