correct installation of window

my windows have been installed by the window company and i have a query on how they were fitted.

they put the window directly on the window cill but there is no dcm overlap.

I always though that the dcm would be overlapped on the cill and the window placed on top of it.

If these are direct replacement windows than the company will only install frames and glaze. ie they will not damp-proof your window cills etc.
Only thing they'll insert are plastic packers in order to square the frame.
If it's a new build - see your builder regarding dpc.
