Hiya
Does anyone know the correct amount of mortgage interest relief a sole first time buyer should be getting on a mortgage of €165k. Term is 35 years and rate is 4.6% tracker

I took out my mortgage in September and havent applied for my MIR yet. Just wondering how much I can expect

Thanks

You need to post the mortgage term and rate too. You can estimate the annual interest payable using Karl Jeacle's calculator. FTBs in the first 7 years qualify for 20% relief on a maximum of €10K p.a. per mortgage holder. If the actual bill is less than this then they get relief on the amount actually paid.

Use the calculator linked above and choose the Annual Table option to estimate the annual interest bill from which you can work out the relief.
