Consultation Period

Hello. Just a query that somebody out there might be able to help with. I have been placed on protective notice and currently in the consultation period stage. Our boss is intent on getting knowledge for the future of the business...is this correct for her to be looking for at this stage...I understood that the transfer of knowledge comes after the consultation period once packages have been sorted.

Please help
