I have one of these coming up. Just wanted to know if anyone else has any experience of one. Am not looking forward to it but I am not allowing anyone (my past employer) to treat me badly and expect to get away with it.

Hi, iv not been to a hearing but am thinking about bringing a case against my previous employer also, was hoping that you might let us know what happened at your hearing whenever it takes place....thanks and good luck!

What preparations have you made for this case? Did you already go through the disciplinary and complaints procedure with your former employer? Did you exhaust all possibilities while you were working there? If you haven't already done this, it's unlikely that bringing a case will do you much good just out of the blue.

Volly,

In addition to ronan's points above.

Are you getting professional advice from a solicitor?

Have you the support of a trade union?

What is your motivation for taking this action?

If successful what is the best case scenario in terms of remedy?

was nerve wracking but am very pleased (mostly with myself ) for going ahead with it and sticking up to my previous employers - they treated me badly and I wanted them to know - you can't treat employees bad and expect to get away with it. Wont' know the outcome for a few weeks but it could go either way.

Read your contract - grievance procedures - the more your follow procedures and can prove you did - the better for you and keep everything - e.g. emails and make notes of conversations etc.

Good Luck!

it wasn't out of the blue - I started the process a few weeks after I had left.
