Hi ,
We just got a new gas hob and oven fitted in our new build all the electricity was on in the house except the MCB for the kitchen . We switched on the MCB to find that our Hob was constantly igniting and clicking like mad what is the cause of this ? Could it be our hob is faulty or is there a problem with the electrics? The oven works fine and seems to be connected into a spur outlet along with the hob.
Thanks
I agree with the previous post, your electrics are ok, reason someone turned off the mcb was because of the sparking, you do have a problem with the hob, check the ignition push button if fitted, it may be stuck, if it is not and the hob is new report it and get in service person, it is not a major repair, but you do need to get it sorted out,
just a thought , some hobs have one button to press for ignition and spark in all the places, others have systems where the the spark is caused by turning on the required knob, and only causes one set of sparking, so it could be either the button or the knobs.
