Connection to ESB and Bord Gais

How much is it for initial connection to ESB and Bord Gais? Do you simply ring them and ask them to be connected? Apologies for my innocence!!

yup just have the meter number for both.esb charged me 300 for non direct debit and gas was 400 deposit for direct debit.

i presume you mean to a new build?

i think we paid around 2000 to be connected. this included a pole. house is in a rural location on it's own site.
